Subscription Prices

The subscription prices generally available in Japan are as follows:

  • Monthly Plan: JPY 680 per month, including applicable tax
  • Annual Plan: JPY 4,800 per year, including applicable tax

The Annual Plan is charged as a single payment of JPY 4,800 for the entire one-year subscription period. It is not billed in monthly installments.

The actual price, currency, taxes, availability of a free trial, and other purchase conditions will be those displayed on the Apple App Store or Google Play purchase confirmation screen at the time of purchase.

Outside Japan, prices may be displayed and charged in the local currency applicable to the user's country or region.

Additional Costs

Users are responsible for internet access fees, mobile data charges, device costs, and any other expenses required to use the Service.

We do not separately charge any additional processing fees for in-app purchases.

Payment Methods

Payments are processed as in-app purchases through the following app stores:

  • Apple App Store
  • Google Play

The subscription fee will be charged to the payment method associated with the user's Apple ID or Google Account.

Payment Timing

The applicable subscription fee will be charged when the initial purchase is completed.

Thereafter, unless the subscription is cancelled, the fee for the next subscription period will be charged upon each renewal.

The exact billing date, renewal date, and payment conditions will be those displayed by the Apple App Store or Google Play.

Start of Service

Paid features will generally become available immediately after payment has been successfully completed and the purchase information has been reflected in the Service.

Activation of paid features may be delayed due to network issues, processing delays by the Apple App Store or Google Play, or other circumstances.

If paid features are not activated after purchase, please use the Restore Purchases feature within the application.

Subscription Period

  • Monthly Plan: One month from the date of purchase
  • Annual Plan: One year from the date of purchase

The exact subscription start date, renewal date, and expiration date will be those displayed in the subscription management settings of the user's Apple ID or Google Account.

Automatic Renewal

The Monthly Plan and Annual Plan are auto-renewable subscriptions.

Unless the user cancels within the deadline specified by the Apple App Store or Google Play, the Monthly Plan will automatically renew every month and the Annual Plan will automatically renew every year. The applicable fee for the next subscription period will be charged at each renewal.

The exact cancellation deadline and renewal processing time will be governed by the conditions established by Apple or Google.

Free Trials

We may offer a free trial to eligible users.

Where a free trial applies, the trial period, eligible plan, price charged after the trial, and other applicable conditions will be displayed on the Apple App Store or Google Play purchase confirmation screen before the purchase is completed.

Unless the user cancels within the deadline specified by the applicable app store before the free trial ends, the subscription will automatically convert into the selected paid plan and the displayed subscription fee will be charged.

Where no free trial is offered, or where the user is not eligible for a free trial, the regular subscription fee will apply from the time of purchase.

Cancellation

Subscriptions may be cancelled through the subscription management settings of the app store through which the subscription was purchased.

Purchases through the Apple App Store

On an iPhone or iPad, open "Settings," select the user's name, select "Subscriptions," select CanIEat, and follow the cancellation instructions.

Purchases through Google Play

Open the Google Play Store, select the profile icon, select "Payments & subscriptions," select "Subscriptions," select CanIEat, and follow the cancellation instructions.

Deleting the application, logging out, or deleting a CanIEat account does not automatically cancel the subscription.

Before deleting a CanIEat account, users should confirm the subscription status and, where necessary, cancel the subscription through the Apple App Store or Google Play.

Access after Cancellation

Even after cancelling a subscription, users may generally continue to access paid features until the end of the subscription period for which payment has already been made.

At the end of that subscription period, the paid plan will not renew and the account will move to the free plan.

Cancellations, Returns, and Refunds

Because the Service provides digital services, completed purchases are generally not eligible for cancellation, prorated refunds, or refunds for unused portions of a subscription, except where required by applicable law.

Purchases, billing, cancellations, and refunds are processed in accordance with the terms and refund policies of the Apple App Store or Google Play through which the purchase was made.

To request a refund, users must submit the request through the Apple App Store or Google Play used for the purchase.

For duplicate charges, unauthorized charges, or cases where a purchased plan has not been activated, users should contact Apple, Google, or our support team.

Nothing in this section limits any rights that users may have under applicable law.

Cooling-Off Rights

The statutory cooling-off system under Japan's Act on Specified Commercial Transactions does not apply to mail-order or online sales.

This does not exclude any cancellation or refund rights that may apply under applicable law or under the refund policies of Apple or Google.

System Requirements

The supported operating systems, devices, and other system requirements necessary to use the Service are displayed on the CanIEat application page in the Apple App Store or Google Play.

Even where the stated requirements are met, certain features may not operate correctly due to device performance, network conditions, available storage, or device settings.

Description of the Service

Paid plans provide access to image analysis, meal logging, AI advice, and other paid features to the extent displayed within the application and on the purchase screen.

Available features, usage counts, and usage limits may vary depending on the selected plan, application version, operating system, or availability of the Service.

Users should review the specific features and conditions of each plan on the purchase screen before completing a purchase.

Changes to Prices and Service Conditions

We may change the prices, features, usage limits, or other conditions of paid plans where necessary.

Price changes affecting existing subscriptions will be handled in accordance with applicable law and the procedures established by Apple and Google. Users will be notified where required.

Special Sales Conditions

Where we offer promotions, free trials, discounts, or other special conditions, the applicable eligibility requirements, period, price, and conditions will be displayed on the purchase screen.

Where no special conditions are displayed, the standard sales conditions will apply.
